Summer School Credit Recovery Program
Students who failed one or more classes during the 2025-2026 school year may be eligible to recover their credit in Ellington High School’s Summer Credit Recovery Program. School counselors have already reached out to eligible students and their families with program information.
Registration for the program is due no later than Friday, 6/19. Families may reference
this summer school document for more information.
AP/ECE Summer Work:
Students who signed up for an Advanced Placement (AP) or UCONN Early College Experience (ECE) course for the 2026-2027 school year are required to complete summer work. Students should reference
this document for more information about summer work for AP and ECE classes.
Student schedules for the 2026-2027 school year will be released in late August. If a student would like to make a change to their schedule over the summer, they should email their school counselor. Please note that school counselors will be unavailable until late August and will respond when they return to the office. Students interested in adding an AP or ECE course should plan to complete the summer work.
Summer Mental Health Resources
While many students and families are excitedly planning for summer break, we know this season can also be a difficult and isolating time for some students. Please reference the attached document for mental health resources to help support students and families during the summer break.
Summer Nutrition Resources for Families
Just as connection serves as a powerful protective factor for youth mental health, meeting children's basic needs is essential to their well-being. This summer, children can access free, nutritious meals through USDA SUN Meals at upwards of 500 locations across Connecticut. Any child aged 18 and younger can simply show up and enjoy a healthy meal at no cost to them or their household—no application, income verification, or ID required. Families can find nearby meal sites using the
USDA Summer Meals Site Finder. Locations and hours may change throughout the summer, so families should check before they go. In addition, most children eligible for Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (S-EBT) benefits will receive them automatically. Families who have not received benefits but believe they may qualify can apply.
